The Board of Governors
To help maintain the beauty and architectural integrity of our neighborhood, Original Northwood has an active Association with an annually elected Board of Governors and voluntary dues-paying member households. A list of duties may be found by selecting each office.
The Original Northwood Association (ONA) Board of Governors is headed by the President with three other officers (Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary) and five standing committees (Communications, Covenant, Maintenance, Safety and Social).
The ONA holds elections each September to choose the incoming members of the Board of Governors. On September 14, 2022, the community elected the following members to serve on the board:
President, vacant - president@originalnorthwood.org
Vice President, Mario Beltran - vicepresident@originalnorthwood.org
Treasurer, Shawn Marsden - treasurer@originalnorthwood.org
Secretary, Mimi Forbes - secretary@originalnorthwood.org
Covenant, Mary Stevenson, Lauren Bambusch - covenant@originalnorthwood.org
Maintenance, Jayne Mauric - maintenance@originalnorthwood.org
Communications, Missy Beltran - communications@originalnorthwood.org
Safety, Todd Jackson -safety@originalnorthwood.org
Social, Allison Moon - social@originalnorthwood.org
Each committee member is elected by the community. The Covenant Chair is assisted in work by a non-voting Covenant Co-Chair and by members of the Covenant Committee. Additional committees may be appointed by the President with approval from the Board, pursuant to our by-laws and constitution, as need arises.
The Original Northwood Association (ONA) meets monthly to address the needs and interests of residents living in the 396 homes comprising the neighborhood. Tasks and responsibilities include organizing community maintenance, publishing neighborhood newsletters, coordinating local safety initiatives, and hosting neighborhood social events. We are a volunteer organization that collects dues from our neighborhood residents on a voluntary basis.
The ONA is governed by a constitution which can be found here. The Board of Governors is elected each September at our Annual Meeting. The board represents the neighborhood in a variety of matters and its President also serves as a Trustee on the broader Greater Northwood Covenant Association (GNCA).
