Join your Original Northwood neighbors Lynnette & Eric Dodson, owners of Cuples Tea House, for a Virtual Tea Tasting on Sunday, May 2nd from 2pm-3pm. Learn proper tea brewing tips and new tea knowledge on this exciting virtual journey about the versatility of TEA!
This 45-minute guided session includes 2 tea tastings and a custom tasting card to be delivered to you before the tasting Sunday.
The first 10 Original Northwood residents who respond will enjoy the tasting for FREE - to register, send an email with your name and contact to social@northwood.org
After we reach 10 attendees, residents will be directed to a link to participate for a $15 charge.
A little about the tasting:
During our tastings, we introduce people to the world of premium loose-leaf tea, beyond what you can buy at the grocery store, with all its flavor profiles, aromas, colors and textures. The emphasis of our virtual tea tastings is on the importance of ‘True Tea’ and the versatility of tea.
For your tasting we will be sipping our Energy of Life Black Tea and our Moroccan Mint Green Tea.
As the group tastes, we will ask folks to describe your own personal tea experiences. This gives an opportunity for others to learn, as we taste together.
If you would like, please consider having a few palate cleansers available, here are some thoughts on items that you could purchase in advance of our tasting.
Each participant could make something of a charcuterie board which might include some Gouda cheese, a black bottom or slice of chocolate cake, a couple of lemon cookies or perhaps a slice of lemon pound cake, 2 Godiva chocolates (dark chocolate/caramel chocolate), a few pecans/cashews and a handful of grapes/strawberries/blueberries. These palate cleansers will ensure that no one taste of the tea overpowers the next. (All of these items can be purchased from local grocery stores.) As we taste, we’ll infuse in these items and talk about how these palate cleansers help to enhance the taste, or how they change the taste/texture of the tea. (Totally optional)
Folks should also have on hand
- a serving of honey/sweetener of choice (if so desired),
- a glass of room temperature water
- easy access to boiled water
- tea infuser/strainer
We recommend that participants have access to boiled water during the workshop because we will be steeping the tea together. We will remind participants of proper steeping instructions prior to making the tea.
Hope that you can make it!https://cuplesteahouse.com/original-northwood-association-tea-tasting/
